Lewiston, ME

This 10-unit structure, which provides attractive, high-quality affordable housing for families otherwise facing homelessness or sub-standard living situations, was TPD Construction Co.’s second apartment construction for non-profit Tedford Housing. Built to Maine State Housing Authority standards, it features two ADA-compliant units, along with energy-efficient radiant slab heating and motion-activated lighting in the common areas.

Situated in the heart of up-and-coming Lewiston, residents have easy access to services without the need to own a vehicle. Building in an urban setting with the goal of maximizing the number of units that could be placed on a small lot, this project required extensive shoring during excavation to prevent disturbance to neighboring properties and careful scheduling throughout the construction process to ensure a safe, efficient work site.
