The General Contracting process is the traditional process in which
the Owner separately contracts with a design team and a construction
team.
- The Owner contracts with two parties, the Architect/Engineer for
the design of the project and the General Contractor for the construction
of the project.
- The General Contractors contract is either a "Hard Bid" or a "Negotiated
Bid."
- The relationship between the Architect/Engineer and the General
Contractor is the Architect is responsible for the field observations
of the General Contractor.
